Monica Ricourt

Who is Monica Ricourt?

Ms. Ricourt was elected borough councillor for the district of Ovide-Clermont in Montréal-Nord on November 1, 2009.

Ex-political attaché to Madam Line Beauchamp (Member for Bourassa-Sauvé, Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks), Ms. Ricourt was also involved with political parties at both municipal and provincial levels. She actively lobbied for the Commission des Jeunes d’Union Montréal, the party’s youth wing.

In 2010, the Black History Month Round Table paid her a tribute. She had already been honoured by the group in 2007 and, in 2008, was given the Coup de cœur du public award by the Jeune chambre de commerce haïtienne.

A caring and capable woman, in 2008, she was selected by American Foreign Service Officers overseas to take part in the prestigious U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program under the theme “Energy Policies and Climate Change”. The program recruits current and future leaders in various areas of expertise from around the world. She was also chosen as an ambassador for Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) as part of celebrations marking the academic institution’s 40th anniversary.

Her commitment to Society in Motion

As far as Monica Ricourt is concerned, environment and public transit go hand in hand. She also wants to make the most of her seat on the Board to impart the views of cultural communities and the local community environment.

Her role with STM

Monica Ricourt has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2010. She is chair of the Diversity sub-committee. She is also chair of the Arts and Heritage committee and a member of the Human Resources committee.
