Journées de la culture: tour the 1978 extension stations

News

During Journées de la culture, the STM is giving guided tours of eight stations of the green line with historian Benoît Clairoux, Didier Gillon, architect of the LaSalle station, and Jacques Bourassa, a métro builder who worked on the 1978 extension.

Montréal, September 24, 2018 — The Montréal métro is known around the world for the architectural quality of its stations and its collection of artwork. This is particularly true for the eight stations inaugurated forty years ago on the Green line: Angrignon, Monk, Jolicoeur, Verdun, de l’Église, LaSalle, Charlevoix and Lionel-Groulx. These stations are all different and have their own individual stories. During Journées de la culture, we are giving guided tours of these stations with historian Benoît Clairoux, Didier Gillon, architect of the LaSalle station, and Jacques Bourassa, a métro builder who worked on the 1978 extension.
