Press release

STM and POP Montréal invite Montréalers to a super karaoké at Place-des-Arts métro station, in a tribute to Leonard Cohen. This event will take place in front of Frédéric Bach’s painted glass mural, on November 9, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Montréal, November 7, 2017 – Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and POP Montréal are pleased to invite Montrealers to a super karaoké at Place-des-Arts métro station, in a tribute to Leonard Cohen. This festive event aims at presenting and honouring the works of our famous Montrealer and takes place in front of Frédéric Back’s painted glass mural, on November 9, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event is hosted live by karaoke band Urockaoke.

STM reminds that this initiative follows in the wake of the Leonard Cohen: Une brèche en toute chose/A Crack in Everything exhibition organized by MAC, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Presented by CBC/Radio-Canada and featured in the official program of activities for Montréal’s 375th anniversary, the exhibit runs from November 9, 2017 to April 9, 2018.

For this first major exhibition entirely devoted to the imagination and legacy of this world-renowned singer/songwriter, visitors can admire the works of some forty visual artists, musicians, filmmakers and performers, from home and abroad, who were all inspired, influenced or otherwise touched by Leonard Cohen. Because STM is a partner with this exhibit, OPUS card holders can get a $2 discount on the regular price of admission for adults on the first Tuesday of every month.

In November, take public transit to take in Cohen!
