Press release

Major repairs will require the alternate closing of the secondary entrances to Côte-Vertu station
from May 10 to September 19, 2010

Montréal, May 3, 2010
Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform clients that the secondary entrances to Côte-Vertu station must alternately be closed so that major repair work can be carried out from May 10 to next September 19.

The repair work will also mean added detours for passengers walking to the following bus stops:

Phase 1: May 10 to July 16 inclusively (Côte-Vertu sud entrance)
  • 72 – Alfred-Nobel
  • 121 – Sauvé (heading East)
  • 171 – Henri-Bourassa (heading East)
  • 196 – Parc industriel Lachine

Phase 2: August 2 to September 19 inclusively (Édouard-Laurin entrance)
  • 72 – Alfred-Nobel
  • 196 – Parc industriel Lachine
  • STL – 144 – Côte-Vertu / Sainte-Dorothée
  • STL – 151 – Côte-Vertu / Sainte-Rose
  • STL – 902 – Côte-Vertu / Le Carrefour

A bus stop location map is available on the STM website (www.stm.info, in the STM Works section). Moreover, signs will be posted to inform and direct transit users.

For the duration of the repairs, the corridor below boulevard Côte-Vertu will remain open so that clients may exit from the open entrance building. For each one of the entrance buildings, repairs will consist mainly of demolishing the entrance building’s structural slab and pouring a new one, with the addition of a waterproofing membrane, repairing staircases and floor finishes, installing new windows, replacing the entrance building’s indoor and outdoor lighting, as well as resurfacing the asphalt.

Aware that these major works will somewhat force clients to change their habits around the station, the STM wants to reassure clients that every necessary measure has been taken to ensure public safety and that every effort has been made to minimize any related inconvenience.

The repair work is part of phase II of the Réno-Stations programme. Transport Québec and STM are financial partners in carrying out this programme.
