Modifications to STM bus service and restrictions
to bicycle access from July 29 to August 5, 2007

Montreal, July 26, 2007 - As a variety of events will be taking place from July 29 to August 5, 2007, the STM will modify some of its bus service during this period.

Because ridership might be quite heavy during these events, as well as for security reasons, transporting a bicycle in the métro system may be restricted during various periods.

Gay Pride Parade on Sunday July 29, 2007

During the Parade on Sunday July 29,

There will be no service on the 14 – Amherst, 15 – Sainte-Catherine and 150 – Ren�-L�vesque bus routes between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Transporting a bicycle in the métro system will be permitted, subject to last-minute notice due to ridership or security conditions.

Divers/Cité Celebrations from August 1st to August 5

The STM will modify some of its bus service at certain times during those days:

  • 15 – Sainte-Catherine

  • 30 – Saint-Denis/Saint-Hubert

  • 361 – Saint-Denis

Transporting a bicycle in the métro system will be restricted until after 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, and further restricted from 6 p.m. until after métro closing time on Sunday night, August 5.

Nascar from August 1 to August 4, 2007

The STM will also modify these routes:

  • 167 – Casino and 167 – Les Îles, direction La Ronde, between 8:30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4;

  • 168 – Cité du Havre between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4.

On Saturday, August 4, transporting a bicycle in the métro system will be restricted until 10:00 p.m.

When planning their transportation between Wednesday, August 1, and Sunday, August 5, transit users should call A-U-T-O-B-U-S (514 288-6287) for timetables at their bus stop. Because ridership levels are usually heavier after an event than before, the STM also recommends that transit users purchase their return fare ahead of time to avoid line-ups.
