The STM, proud partner
of Montréal Museum Day for twenty years now!

Montreal, 12 May 2006 - For 20 years, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has been proud to contribute to the increasingly successful Montréal Museum Day by being the event’s official transporter.

Reaching the different museums will be as easy as ever, as the Board of Montréal Museum Directors and the STM will once again provide shuttle service on Sunday, May 28, taking museum-goers to the four corners of the city, on their journey to discovering art and culture. Shuttle buses will be departing from the head office of the Journal de Montréal, at 4545 Frontenac Street, which will also serve as a clearinghouse for information about the 35 participating museums. All in all, 42 buses will carry visitors along five specially-designed routes for the event. The shuttle service is free and will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from the Journal de Montréal, with the last museum-bound departure at 4:30 p.m.

“ For 20 years now, the STM’s shuttle service has played an important part in Montréal Museum Day. Once again this year, we are cordially inviting the population to let itself be transported on this journey of discovery and wonderment, “ declared Claude Trudel, Chairman of the STM Board of Directors.

Anyone not wishing to use the shuttle service can still use public transportation to take part in the event, as many museums are accessible by either bus or métro. However, visitors will have to pay their fare when boarding regular transit. The STM invites everyone to pay special attention to the 80 or so works of art located within the métro.

Service will also be adjusted on the 97 and 94 bus routes at Mont-Royal and Frontenac métro stations to facilitate transportation to the Journal de Montréal’s head office, the departure point for the museum shuttles.
