STM: bus users are asked to be prepared for the peak season

News

During this high-traffic fall period, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is asking customers to be prepared and allow more time for their trips on the bus system.

The effects are still being felt from the maintenance employees’ overtime strike, from May 6 to 12 this year, and the subsequent pressure tactics. Some 160 buses, about 10% of the peak-period requirement,  are still not available to deliver the full scheduled service. This situation will mean service reductions on certain lines. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine in advance the lines or sectors that will be affected, as all of the bus garages are involved.

Customer information

To facilitate their trips, customers are invited to buy their September pass in advance, allow more time for their trips and verify the geolocated position of their bus using the feature available on the STM’s beta website or beta mobile site, as well as the Transit and Chrono apps.

The STM is doing everything possible to improve the situation.
