Sunday December 4 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Nutcracker will have your kids dancing in the métro!

Press release

Montréal, December 1,  2011 –  Thanks to the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the company of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, you can offer your children children aged 4 to 10 an exceptional Christmas gift. Indeed, the STM is inviting them to take part in a free dance workshop on one of the great holiday classics, The Nutcracker, which continues to delight young and old year after year.

What a wonderful treat for them to go to Place-des-Arts métro station on Sunday, December 4, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and enjoy this magical activity. A cherished memory for them for years to come!

On this occasion, children will be able to try out various props used in the ballet production and attend a demonstration featuring dancing on pointe shoes, ballet exercises and the learning of roles. Furthermore, the dancers from Les Grands Ballets Canadiens will offer them an opportunity to participate in the interpretation of the scene involving the mice and soldiers.

It should also be mentioned that children in attendance could win one of the door prizes being offered. So, don’t miss out on this unique event that will bring the essential magic of the holiday season to all.

Finally, the STM would like to remind parents that they can take full advantage of the Family Outings program to get to the event. This program allows an adult presenting a transit fare valid within the STM’s network to travel with up to five children under the age of 12 at no extra cost on Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. It also allows families to benefit from attractive discounts from various STM partners. To find out more, simply click here: www.stm.info/English/info/a-famille-3.htm
