STM services during the holidays

Montréal, December 22, 2010
The Christmas and New Year’s holidays will bring few changes to Société de transport de Montréal (STM) transit services. Unless otherwise specified in Planibus timetables or on Infobus panels, normal weekday service will be provided on the majority of bus routes, including regular Saturday service on December 25, 2010, and January 1, 2011, and regular Sunday service on December 26, 2010, and January 2, 2011.

As for Transport adapté’s paratransit service, regular transportation schedules are cancelled from December 25, 2010, to January 2, 2011, inclusively, except for clients requiring dialysis. A special reservations procedure will be in effect. Thus, anyone needing transportation services during this period can make a reservation up to seven days prior to their travel date.

Please note that requests to modify a return time for December 24 can be processed as of December 17. During the holiday period, the existing procedure to reserve off-island transportation remains in effect, and clients should allow for three days’ notice. For any first-time request for service from a paratransit provider other than the STM, clients must reserve five (5) days in advance.

For the period extending from December 23, 2010, to January 2, 2011, please note that no request for transportation will be refused as long as the arrival time at destination is no later than 4 a.m. This applies to both on-island and off-island travel.

The programme also enables families to enjoy discounts from a number of partners. To find out more, go to www.stm.info/info/famille-3.htm

The STM wishes a happy holiday season to all clients and invites the population to choose public transit. When celebrating the holidays, public transit is the responsible choice!
