On Friday, July 12, in collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross, the STM will be collecting donations in four metro stations to support victims of the disaster in Lac-Mégantic.
You are welcome to make a donation at the Berri-UQAM, Honoré-Beaugrand, McGill, or Bonaventure stations. All funds collected will go the Canadian Red Cross, an organization whose philanthropic and humanitarian efforts are supported by the STM.
The Red Cross is already hard at work in Lac-Mégantic, helping to meet the needs of those who had to be evacuated.
As you know, during the night of July 6, a derailed train carrying crude oil caused explosions and a devastating fire in downtown Lac-Mégantic, resulting in numerous deaths and significant physical damage.
