Publication date: August 11, 2026

Key takeaways

  • Strollers are allowed in buses and the métro. We recommend an umbrella stroller, for convenience.
  • Accessible elevators in stations and reserved space in the métro make travel easier.
  • You’ll find it more comfortable to travel outside of rush hour.

Safety tips for travelling with young children

In the métro or on the bus, plan ahead for trips that are enjoyable and safe with young children.

  • Bring your children onboard one at a time, without rushing.
  • If there are no free seats, ask your children to hold the grab bars. Do not let them sit on the floor.
  • Have them ready to get off ahead of time.

Travelling with a stroller

  • For convenience when boarding and during your trip, use an umbrella stroller or one that is no more than 56 cm wide.
  • Travel between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to avoid the crowds.
  • In the métro, use wheelchair and stroller access points and elevators at accessible stations.
  • On the bus, enter from the front and exit from the back to avoid bottlenecks.

Turn on accessible mode in your Trip Planner

Use the elevators—there are 30 of them in our métro stations. Before you leave, check the service status to make sure they’re operational on your route.
