STM transit service during the holidays
Montreal, 16 December 2004 -
Because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, schedules for some STM
services will be modified. Most bus routes will provide regular weekday
service, except on Saturday, December 25 and January 1, and on Sunday,
December 26 and January 2, when most buses will run according to Sunday
schedules, unless otherwise noted in the Planibus or Infobus timetables.
Public taxi service in Saint-Laurent Borough, between Place Vertu shopping
centre and the Aldo distribution centre, will also be suspended on December
26 and January 2.
STM Paratransit (Transport adapté) will provide
regular services throughout the holiday season. Paratransit users need only
reserve their transportation according to the usual holiday procedure. The
customer service department will be open December 28, 29 and 30. During that
period, agents can be reached by calling 280-8211 (option 4) between 8:30
a.m. and 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
métro service
On Saturday December 25 and January 1, the interval between trains will be
about 12 minutes on both Green and Orange lines, and about 10 minutes on the
Yellow and Blue lines. Trains will run until the usual Saturday night
closing time.
Sunday schedules will be in effect on Sunday December 26
and January 2 on the Green, Orange and Yellow lines, although extra trains
will be added on the Green line between 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. December 26,
for the convenience of Boxing Day shoppers. As for the Blue line, Saturday
schedules will be in effect on both days.
The STM would like to remind those planning to attend the
Place Jacques-Cartier Ball on December 31 that regular Friday service will
be provided. Thus, the last departures toward Henri-Bourassa will be at
00:51 a.m. from Place d’Armes and at 00:52 a.m. from Champ-de-Mars, while
the last departures toward Côte-Vertu will be at. 00:59 a.m. from Champ-de
Mars and at 1a.m. from Place d’Armes.
CAM Sales
The January 2005 bus and métro CAM pass will be on sale in all métro
stations from December 27 to January 7. Transit users can also purchase it
on December 25 and 26 at either Berri-UQAM, Côte-Vertu, Jean-Talon or
Lionel-Groulx stations. Also, a reminder that the cost of the monthly pass
goes up to $61 in January ($32.50 for the reduced fare pass).
When planning their transportation, transit users should
consult their Planibus timetables or call A-U-T-O-B-U-S (288-6287) for
schedule information at their stop. For any other information, including
travel directions within Montréal, they can call STM●INFO (786-4636). More
useful information can also be found on the STM’s website at www.stm.info,
including a list of all five-digit bus stop codes.

holiday season to all transit users and invites everyone to use public
transit for their holiday transportation. During this period of celebration,
transit is the responsible choice !
