Bycles + BUS

BIKE + BUS = PARTNERS IN ROAD SAFETY
(a hybrid bus driver's story)

The STM invites you to add cycling to your transportation cocktail by making the most of the bus-mounted bike racks this spring!

Last summer, the STM had initiated a pilot project for bicycle racks on the bus lines 140 – Fleury and 180 – Salaberry. As the overall results were generally positive, the project will be repeated in spring 2012, with the addition of a third bus line, the 146 – Christophe-Colomb.

Indeed, the 146 – Christophe-Colomb runs all day, seven days a week, along two north-south corridors next to the bicycle path on Christophe-Colomb St. The bus line also makes it possible to transfer to the métro’s Orange line at Crémazie station, and with the 140  – Fleury and 180 – de Salaberry bus lines that already provide bicycle rack service.

These bus lines were chosen with the help of Vélo Québec representatives because they intersect with heavily-used bicycle paths.
