As a gift for summer, the Family Outings program is available every day

Press release

Montréal, June 22, 2012  –  In the wake of efforts by the City of Montréal and its partners to promote commercial and cultural activities happening in the city, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has decided to make its Family Outings program available throughout the summer, allowing an adult holding a valid transit fare card to travel with up to five children under the age of 12 at no extra cost.

Family Outings will therefore be in effect every day of the week, from June 23 to September 3 inclusively, while children are enjoying their summer vacation and when so many opportunities are available to them, their family and friends. During the rest of the year, the program remains in effect on Saturdays, Sundays, legal holidays and school breaks.

As a way of inspiring families regarding their summer activities, the STM is working with over twenty commercial partners from the tourist, cultural and leisure sectors to offer interesting discounts to transit users. For more information about the program’s partners and its extended period, as well as how to download coupons, simply go to http://www.stm.info/english/info/a-famille.htm. The website also contains a wealth of useful and practical information to make riding public transit even better.

The Family Outings program is valid on all STM bus and metro lines, with the exception of the 747 bus running between downtown and Montréal-Trudeau airport.

The STM takes this opportunity to wish its customers a terrific summer and to invite the public to choose public transit. By bus or by métro, public transit is always fun… and with Family Outings, it’s free !
