Accident involving an STM bus – Mayor Gérald Tremblay offers his condolences to the grieving families touched by these tragic circumstances

Montréal, August 16, 2012  –  The mayor of Montreal, Mr. Gérald Tremblay, offers his condolences to the families of the two victims of the accident that occurred on August 14, at the intersection of Lindsay Street and 55th Avenue. One of the victims, Mr. Sylvain Ferland, was a bus driver employed by the Société de transport de Montréal since 1989.

“Mr. Ferland was an experienced bus driver who served his customers with dedication during his 23 years of service. This sorrowful event touches all those who were close to the victims, but also all STM employees“, declared mayor Tremblay.

“In the name of all Montreal citizens, elected officials, and on behalf of myself and my wife, I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to the two accident victims’ families along with my wishes for a prompt recovery to those who suffered injuries. Our thoughts are with Mr. Ferland’s family, Mrs. Karine Groulx, his wife, and Mrs. Lise Ferland, his sister, both LaSalle transportation centre bus drivers”, concluded mayor Tremblay.
