Sunday service for the 119 - Rockland bus route starting June 28, 2009

Press release

Sunday service for the 119 - Rockland bus route
starting June 28, 2009

Montréal, June 17, 200
9 The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is pleased to inform transit users that, as of next June 28, service will be provided Sundays on the 119 – Rockland bus route, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. with 38-minute intervals between buses, thereby offering the same level of service as on Saturdays.

Buses will travel along the same route as they do the rest of the week. The schedule change on this bus route means an increase in service of some 1343 hours a year, and requires an additional two buses to ensure service.

This is very good news for seniors living in retirement homes served by the bus route, including the Douglas Residence, as well as for Rockland Centre business owners and shoppers.

This new offer of Sunday service on the 119 – Rockland bus route is one more step in the ongoing development and improvement of customer services and clearly reflects the STM’s position in favour of public transit use.

STM clients are invited to pick up a new Planibus timetable to plan their transit rides. They are available aboard buses until June 26, 2009. Clients can also obtain them from metro fare control booths and on the mezzanine level of Berri-UQAM station. Planibus timetables are also available at all times from the STM website for printing.

Bus stop codes appearing inside the timetables are included and a complete list is also available. These five-digit codes are featured on bus stop panels and enable clients to find out at what time the next buses will go by, simply by calling A U-T-O-B-U-S (514 288-6287). For all other information, including travel directions for within Montréal, clients should call STM-INFO (514 786-4636).
