Between now and Sunday, you may hear a train sound its horn as it enters the station. It won’t carry any passengers and won’t open its doors when it stops in the station – it will just continue on its way.

So what’s the point? In fact, it will be conducting a test to compare the force applied to the guide bars by the existing metro cars to that by the new AZUR cars. The test will involve operating a nine-car train with the front car loaded with bags of sand! Measuring instruments in the test car will record the data.

The test will take place:

  • On Thursday, July 11, from 7 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the blue line
  • On Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the orange, green, and yellow lines.
