Paratransit sends three types of automated reminders

  • A reminder the day before the next day’s reservations
  • Notice of cancellation in exceptional circumstances
  • Notice of late cancellation

Reminder the day before of the next day’s reservations

Clients receive a reminder of their trips for the next day.  This reminder of their trips is sent between 6:30 pm and 8:30 p.m. the evening before.

Depending on their preference, this reminder is send via an automated telephone call, an email or a text message to their mobile device.

If you do not want to receive calls, you can receive your reminders by email or text message on your mobile device. Let us know what you prefer by sending us a message at extra@stm.info.

It is not possible to receive reminders on a telephone line with an extension. It must be a direct line.

Notice of late cancellation

Notice of late cancellation is sent automatically by our system when you cancel your trip with less than two hours’ notice.

Notice of late cancellation might still be sent by our system when you cancel your trip late because we want to make our clients aware of the repercussions of cancelling with less than two hours notice.

A late cancellation impacts how smoothly the service functions for other clients who might have been able to reserve a trip during the same period.

For example, you may have already experienced a situation where a stop is made at a residence where no one was actually picked up.

In addition, a reservation that is ultimately not used unnecessarily ties up a driver who might have been redirected to another client or sent to pick up a client more quickly from their medical appointment.

 

Notice of cancellation in exceptional circumstances

Clients will be notified in cases where a trip must be cancelled for reasons beyond our control such as a water main break, for example.

Yes, you can inform us at any time of how you would like to receive the reminder of your next day’s trips and cancellation notices. For example, you might decide to receive the reminder of your next day’s trips by email and notices of cancellations by telephone. You can change your preferences by sending us a message at extra@stm.info.
