Transport adapté (paratransit) service is adjusted based on the number of requests, which have decreased.
Passenger per vehicle limit
Beginning on July 27, we are ending our limit of one passenger per vehicle. It will now be possible to have up to two passengers per vehicle.
This is the maximum number of customers recommended by public health authorities and is possible due to the mandatory wearing of face coverings in all public transit.
Since July 13 the wearing of face coverings is mandatory at all times when taking paratransit.
If you’re travelling to a non-essential business that has an exterior door, be sure that the business is open before your trip.
Fare collection for customers using paratransit was reintroduced on June 29. Protective screens have been installed in accessible sedans and taxis to help safeguard customers and drivers. At the end of July, two customers at a time will be allow in the vehicles.
As we did with our bus and métro customers, we have begun a campaign to distribute free face coverings to our Transport adapté customers, with financial aid from the provincial government.
In the next few days, we will be doing a new mass mailing of face coverings to all of our Transport adapté customers.
Given the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, please note that the reservation service, option 1 of the paratransit customer contact centre, will now be available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week.
There are no changes to option 2 of Info-déplacement, which remains open at all times during regular business hours to cancel a trip or report a delay.
Please note that the SIRTA online reservation site remains open at all times: you can reserve a trip on SIRTA for the next day until 9:00 p.m. All requests for trips made no later than the night before will be accepted as usual.
We have changed the schedule for your trip reminders, which will start at 3:30 p.m. rather than 6:30 p.m.
To prevent any risk of contagion, minibuses and taxis (both regular and accessible) will only transport one customer at a time, except in special cases (for example, two customers living at the same address).
Furthermore, as for the regular métro and bus network, we have reviewed and accelerated our cleaning procedures, ensuring increased cleaning frequency of minibuses and taxis. Frequently touched equipment, such as seatbelts and door handles, are being cleaned often.
These measures will remain in place for as long as necessary.
