In an effort to improve the layout inside De la Concorde station for those passing through it during rush hour periods, we undertook work in November 2017 to redesign and improve the fare collection area.
Thanks to the addition of new turnstiles and the relocation of the red fare gate, the heavy congestion that resulted whenever an RTM commuter train arrived is now a distant memory!
Our targets for improving the flow of passengers entering the station and raising the level of customer satisfaction have been reached. With the added benefit of eight points of entry instead of only four, transit users now enjoy easier and faster access to the métro.
Furthermore, the work was scheduled to take place during off-peak periods, to avoid hindering service, and they were carried out in record time.
Ridership is constantly growing at De la Concorde station.
With only three fare turnstiles, one red fare gate to handle the flow of transit users, and a broken service gate, the entire space needed to be redesigned
Passengers can circulate much more easily when an RTM train arrives in the morning.
A noticeable change that transit users really appreciate.
