About the program

The OPUS & Cie program is intended for companies who want to promote the use of public transit among their employees. It involves annual subscriptions for 12 regular fare monthly passes, valid on the island of Montréal.

The principle

Companies joining the program agree to make a financial contribution toward the purchase of OPUS & Cie monthly passes by their employees. In turn, the STM agrees to match that discount, up to a maximum of 10%.

Eligibility criteria

  • A minimum of 10 participating employees per company

  • A minimum employer contribution of 4.16% per subscription (up to a maximum of 90%)

Months of free transportation... yes, it's possible

Examples of contributions:
6.5% by Employer + 6.5% by STM + 15% tax credit = 3 months of free transportation

    In addition to the discount offered with their subscription, OPUS & Cie subscribers may obtain a 25% discount on the BIXI bike-sharing program.

Terms and conditions

  • Before any employees can subscribe to OPUS & Cie, their employer must first register in the program.

  • An agreement must be signed by the STM and a company, whereby establishing the employer’s level of financial contribution, in other words, the percentage of discount granted by the employer and the STM. Employers can then choose to contribute a minimum of 4.16% up to a maximum of 90%.

An adaptable, worry-free system:

  • Companies will receive a promotional email from their area’s transportation management centre (CGD) featuring a single code that must be distributed to their employees.

  • Companies are not required to manage their employees’ participation, as they will be subscribing directly through the STM website. Employers will only be required to validate the list of employees who subscribed.

  • On the first of each month, companies will receive an invoice showing the number of participating employees and the amount to be paid based on the agreed-upon percentage of discount. That sum will be debited on the 12th day of the month following reception of the invoice.

  • Employers can choose between automatic bank debits or charges to their credit card.

  • The local transportation management centre will assist employers during the registration process

Terms and conditions

  • Once your company has completed the registration process for the program, you will be invited to fill out the online subscription form.

  • Your subscription is for a 12-month period. It is automatically renewed unless your employer or yourself decide to cancel the subscription. It begins on the first day of the following month if you subscribe before the 10th day of the month and if your employer validated your subscription. If you subscribe after the 10th, your subscription will begin two months later. For example, if you subscribe on October 10, your subscription will begin November 1. If you subscribe on October 11, your subscription will begin December 1, conditional to your employer having validated your subscription prior to that.

  • On the 12th of the first month of subscription, and on the 15th of every following month, the cost of your transit pass for the following month will be charged to your credit card or debited from your bank account, according to your chosen method of payment.

  • Your subscription to the program is automatically renewed, month after month, until you or your employer terminates it.

  • As a new subscriber to OPUS & Cie, you will receive a new OPUS card, free of charge, at home. It replaces any OPUS card you may currently be using if you have one. Please note you will no longer be required to reload it each month.
