Aboard paratransit vehicles...
Transportation of animals

animalsLast September 12, the STM board of directors adopted By-Law R-036, replacing the former CA-3 By-law. The complete by-law is available in its original French version from the STM Website. In essence, it stipulates that, within STM buildings and vehicles, it is forbidden for anyone to have an animal with them, unless

  1. that person is disabled and the animal is a guide dog, service dog or a dog being trained for that purpose
    or

  2. if the animal is carried in a cage or other container designed for that purpose.

As a paratransit user, this change means that your pet can no longer travel in your arms or on your lap. Aboard minibuses and taxis, your pet must be kept inside a cage or other appropriate container.
