From August 1 to 4, the STM at the centre of fashion and design

Montréal, August 1, 2012  –  The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is proud to announce its partnership with Festival Mode et Design to take place from August 1 to 4 on McGill College Avenue. The Festival’s high-end program will offer:

STM program

  • Every day, in the STM design area, see live performances where artists create new designs out of STM recycled material. A different artist to be featured every day!
      August 1, 6 p.m : Mathieu Poirier-Galarneau
      August 2, 6 p.m.: Anita Feng (bio in French only)  
      August 3, 6 p.m.: Emmanuel Cognée  
      August 4, 3 p.m.: Marie Line

It is interesting to know that artists selected the materials to be used themselves during a visit to one of the STM transportation centres. Festival Mode et Design has given each artist three hours to transform the various materials into a unique work of art. These four art pieces created live will be showcased in STM offices. The works will be kept for a year before being returned to the artists.

  • On Thursday, August 2, during the Rallye Shopping event, four vintage buses, property of Héritage Montréal Foundation, will undergo an extreme makeover to be transformed into boutiques. Don’t miss this unique event!

and purchase your transit fare ahead of time :

  • Plan ahead for your return trip by buying a two-trip fare ($5.50), you’ll be able to enjoy the event while avoiding line-ups, especially.
  • Are you planning to move around during the evening? The Unlimited Evening pass  is made to meet your needs. For $4, you can travel as much as you want between 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning throughout the network (excluding the 747 bus line). However, the pass must be activated the first time before midnight.
