Subway service interruption - Green line
between Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx stations

Montreal, August 24, 2007 - The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform transit users that subway service on the Green line, between the Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx stations, has been suspended for the entire weekend due to the situation downtown on Maisonneuve Boulevard.

Since the STM is directly affected by this situation, it will ensure that system users are quickly informed of any changes to its service offering that might be required.

To compensate for the lack of service on this segment of the Green line, shuttle buses will run along René-Lévesque Boulevard between the Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx stations, and on Sainte-Catherine Street between the Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM stations.

The subway is still operating between the Lionel-Groulx and Angrignon stations, and between Berri-UQAM and Honoré-Beaugrand.

Finally, in order to reduce the impact of this interruption on passenger travel, the STM invites subway users to use the Orange line between Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx stations.

The STM apologizes for any inconvenience that this situation might cause and thanks transit users for their patience and cooperation.
