The 25 Angus is off to a good start !

Montreal, 28 August 2006 - Earlier this morning, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) was on hand for the new 25 – Angus bus route’s inaugural departure, as part of the sustainable transportation plan announced last June 5 by the Société de développement Angus (SDA).

“Integrating this new service into our bus network, a key component of the SDA’s plan, is one way for the STM to invest in protecting the environment. Moreover, it represents one more step in developing and improving our service offer to transit users,” indicated Claude Trudel, chairman of the STM board of directors.

For his part, André Lavallée, mayor of Rosemont – Petite-Patrie borough, declared, “I am committed to doing everything possible to encourage the use of public transportation and active transportation for people moving about the city. In that sense, introducing the new 25 – Angus bus route is very good news for residents of the Angus site and for Technopôle Angus workers.”

Both Mr. Trudel and Mr. Lavallée joined passengers for the bus route’s first trip, accompanied by Yves Devin, STM director general, and Christian Yaccarini, SDA president and director general.

The new route runs along Sherbrooke Street, between the Angus Technopôle and Sherbrooke métro station, Monday to Friday, during rush hour.

For more information, transit users are invited to call STM-INFO (514 786-4636) or consult the STM website at www.stm.info.
