– In a bid to provide improved public
transit service in the industrial sector of Pointe-aux-Trembles, the Société
de transport de Montréal (STM) will introduce a new bus route, the 25 – Parc
industriel Pointe-aux-Trembles on Monday, August 16, 2004.
Designed to attract new users among employees of
businesses located close to Industriel Boulevard and to Jean-Viel and April
Streets, this new service is the result of a partnership agreement between
the STM and the Société de développement économique Rivière-des-Prairies●Pointe-aux-Trembles
(SODEC). Rush hour service will be provided Monday to Friday, connecting the
industrial park to the terminus stop for the 460 – Métropolitaine line on
Galeries d’Anjou Boulevard by way of the Highway 40 service road.
About 2 800 employees working for some
137 businesses could take advantage of the new bus route, in addition to the
184 – Métrobus Bout-de-l’Île already linking the industrial sector to
Honoré-Beaugrand métro station. The partnership agreement between the STM
and the SODEC is valid for 20 weeks, until December 31, 2004, and can be
renewed at will.
