Partnership agreement renewed between the STM Montreal,
10 March 2004
– In order to maintain bus service on the 76 - McArthur route,
members of the STM's board of directors agreed to renew its financial
partnership with Canada Post Corporation. The one-year agreement comes into
effect on Monday, March 15, 2004, and will end on March 11, 2005. The bus route will therefore continue to provide
evening service, from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. week nights, to Canada Post
Corporation employees working at the Léo-Blanchette facility located in the
borough of Saint-Laurent. The bus route runs between Du Collège métro
station (east end) and 555 McArthur Street (west end). Introduced
in February 2001, when Canada Post Corporation moved most of its downtown
operations to its Saint-Laurent facility, the 76 - McArthur bus route was
designed to meet the needs of employees at the Léo-Blanchette plant whose
work shift ends late in the evening. Between June and December 2003, the
performance standard (25 passengers per hour per vehicle) was reached on
three occasions. Should these ridership levels be maintained for six
consecutive months during the next year, the 76 bus route will be added to
the STM's regular bus network, ending the need for a financial partnership.
