New labour contract signed with maintenance employees

Montreal, 22 January 2004 – Société de transport de Montréal officials and representatives of the Syndicat du transport de Montréal-CSN (maintenance employees) formally signed a new collective agreement that will be in effect till January 6, 2007. As with the agreements reached with the other three unions, this labour contract covers a period of four years and provides for an overall increase in remuneration of 8.7%.

With this fourth agreement, the STM has effectively renewed the labour contracts of 97% of its unionized workforce. Discussions with the Syndicat des travailleurs de la STM (CSN), representing some 190 divisional clerks, are still being held with a mediator, Mr. Pierre Gervais.
