The STM reaches agreement with the Syndicat du personnel administratif, technique et professionnel du transport en commun
(SCFP-2850-FTQ)

Montreal, November 11, 2003 –  At a general meeting this evening, members of the union representing administrative, technical and professional public transit personnel (SCFP-2850-FTQ) agreed to a new four-year job contract. This agreement respects the STM's negotiation parameters and calls for wage increases of 8.7 % over four years: 0 % in 2003, 2 % in 2004, 2.5 % in 2005 and 2.5 % in 2006. Various changes were made to the collective agreement in order to provide, among other things, certain conditions for temporary employees comparable to those for regular employees. In addition, the two parties have agreed to the approval of a new job evaluation programme that respects the Pay Equity Act.

The chairman of the board of directors, Mr. Claude Dauphin, is pleased with this second settlement and hopes to conclude agreements soon with the three other unions that are currently in negotiation: Syndicat du transport de Montréal-CSN (maintenance employees), the Syndicat des professionnels de la STM and the Syndicat des travailleurs de la STM-CSN (divisional clerks).
