The STM increases métro service

Montreal, August 21, 2003 – With Molson Indy Montreal being held August 22, 23 and 24 on �Zle Notre-Dame, the STM will beef up métro service over the weekend. Indeed, trains on the 4 – Yellow line will run every 4 to 5 minutes, from early morning to late evening (tll half past midnight Saturday). Service will be ajusted to meet with demand on the 1 – Green and 2 – Orange lines.

The métro is still the best way to reach the racing site, and the STM suggests fans purchase their return ticket ahead of time to avoid line-ups. For $14, they can buy a three-day Tourist Pass, giving them unlimited access to public transit during all Molson Indy Montreal activities.

As large numbers of fans are expected to use the métro to attend racing events, access to the métro system with a bicycle will be forbidden until 9 p.m. on August 22, 23 and 24.

Bus service ajustments
Because ridership levels increase considerably during such events, bus service throughout the islands will be slightly modified. There will be no service on the 167 – Les �Zles, heading to La Ronde, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Instead, transit users should take the 169 – �Zle-Ronde bus from Papineau métro station to reach the amusement park. The 167 – Les �Zles, heading to the Casino, will run according to its regular schedule, but service could be quite slow on Sunday, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. As for the 168 – Cité-du-Havre, regular service will be provided on Friday and Saturday, although buses will not stop at Cité du Havre from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Lastly, as the beach at Parc Jean-Drapeau is closed, no buses will be going there.
