Bus Service Improvements in Mont-Royal and
Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Boroughs

Extended Evening Service on 115 – Paré Bus Route

Montreal, 28 October 2002 Beginning Monday, November 4, 2002, the STM will be extending evening service from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the 115 – Paré bus route, thereby providing improved transit service to employees working in this business sector.

This latest service improvement was made possible thanks to a financial partnership agreement between the STM and Pharmascience, DSM Biologics and IRB (Institut de recherche en biotechnologie). Indeed, rush hour service only did not fully meet with the needs of their employees, who work variable shifts. As a result, the three companies decided to financially contribute to increased bus service in the sector. The six-month agreement calls for a minimum of 25 passengers per hour per bus; if that ridership level is reached, the companies will be released from their financial obligation, and the extended evening schedule could be permanently added to the STM’s regular service.

Increased service hours are a tangible improvement to the overall public transportation network serving the Mont-Royal and Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce boroughs, and proof that company involvement can contribute to improving public transportation.
