Carte Privilège
For Students 18 to 25

With the Carte Privilège, full-time students aged 18 to 25, and residing in Montreal can travel on the STM's public transit system with a reduced fare CAM (Carte Autobus-Métro) monthly pass.


Conditions and requirements

  • Be a resident of the city of Montreal;
  • Be A full-time student in an institution recognized by the ministère de l'Éducation du Québec (Québec Department of Education);
  • Be under 26 years old on September 1;

  • you must present a document confirming which school you attend.
  • you must pay $10.

Validity period

All “PRIVILÈGE ÉTUDIANT 18-25” cards issued between September 1 and December 31 of a given year are valid from the date they are issued to October 31 of the following year. Cards issued at any other time expire on October 31 of that year.

Required Documents

  • Proof of age : Health insurance card, passport, birth certificate, or driver’s license.
  • Proof of residency : Tax account, Hydro-Québec or Bell invoice featuring your name or civic address, driver’s license, or any other official document from the educational institution stating your civic address.
  • Proof of full-time school attendance : "Proof off full-time school attendance" form or an official document (bearing the stamp or seal of the educational institution) attesting full-time school attendance such as :
    • payment receipt
    • certificate of enrollment.

Important!

A student who is twenty-five (25) years old by September 1 of the current year and who turns twenty-six (26) before September 1 of the following year will be issued a “PRIVILÈGE ÉTUDIANT 18-25” card that expires August 31 of the year in which the student turns 26.

The card is valid only for trips carried out with a reduced fare CAM Monthly card on the STM bus and metro system. The card does not give access to the AMT commuter trains nor to the STL, RTL or CIT networks.

If you have reached the age of 26 this year, your carte Privilège will be valid until August 31, 2007 even if your card bears the mention "Expiration 30 Juin 2007".

Please note : You will have to pay regular fare if you don't show your Privilège Card. People who pay reduced fare without required ID, could be fined $150 plus administration fees.
