The statement of offence |
| Security officers have powers like that of
police officers. When security officers enforce by-laws, offenders risk being fined for an
amount ranging from $50 to $500, depending on the type of infraction. In addition,
officers can seize any object that can be used as evidence in court. Penal proceedings are instituted by means of a statement of offence and commence at the time the statement is served. In most cases, statements of offence are emitted in relation to these articles of by-laws R-036 and R-037
